In 2024, NextStar Energy announced its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 by joining the Environment and Climate Change Canada’s (ECCC) Net-Zero Challenge.
Building on that commitment, we have established our first interim greenhouse gas emissions reduction target for 2030. As Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery manufacturer, we recognize the important role we play in supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy while minimizing the environmental impact of our operations.
By adopting an absolute greenhouse gas emissions reduction target, we are committed to reducing the total emissions generated by our operations while remaining focused on achieving net zero by 2050.
Our 2030 Interim Target
The table below outlines our greenhouse gas emissions reduction pathway, beginning with our 2028 baseline, followed by our 2030 interim target and our long-term commitment to achieving net zero by 2050.
